Social Studies Teacher from 2004-2017 (World History, Sociology, Urban Studies, Psychology, AP Human Geography, Geography, US History) Soccer Coach from 2002-2017
Favorite Saint Viator/Sacred Heart memory: In my role as a teacher, I don’t know if I can pick a favorite. I’ve had so many wonderful moments and interactions with students and colleagues. As a coach, it would have to be winning three state soccer championships.
Impact teaching at Saint Viator/Sacred Heart had on you: I honed my craft of being a teacher with the guidance, mentorships, and friendships from others who are at the best at what they do.
What made Saint Viator unique: The relationships within the school community that Saint Viator actively cultivates.
Former colleagues you stay in touch with: Matt Gruenfeld, Matt Hynek, Mike Manno, Mike Taylor, Corey Jensen, Julie Reedy, Brigette Brankin
Town you currently reside in: Buffalo Grove, IL
What you are doing now: I'm an applications engineer for a manufacturer of bore sizing tools and machines. Working at a small, family-owned company means I wear many hats. I work directly with customers to assess their technical needs of their application and coordinate those solutions with our R & D and manufacturing departments. Another aspect of my job is to coordinate our company's business activities in Mexico. I work closely with our engineering department in Mexico to manage the needs of our customers south of the border. I also manage our accreditation and certification processes. One of the most fascinating aspects of my job is experiencing how quite a few of the topics I taught in geography and sociology actually manifest themselves in industries of manufacturing and business.
Message for former colleagues and students: Make good decisions!!
