Illinois Tax Credit Scholarship

At Saint Viator High School, we are committed to making a Saint Viator education possible for each family that wants it. That is why this year we will provide $2 million dollars to approximately one-third of our student body. However, there are still families that we are not able to assist, and due to the coronavirus pandemic, the need for financial assistance continues to grow.

Contributing to the Tax Credit Scholarship Program impacts lives while improving your state income tax position.  

The process to make a bigger impact on young men and women through our Tuition Assistance Program, while also receiving a 75% credit on your state income tax, is very simple:

• Make a contribution to a scholarship granting organization (SGO) like Big Shoulders or Empower Illinois
• Direct your contribution to Saint Viator High School 
• Receive a 75% state income tax credit (not a deduction - a credit!) for the amount of your donation 

New this year, is the opportunity to have your employer match your donation to a qualified SGO.  Please visit our Matching Gift page to look up your employer's gift matching parameters, or talk directly to your HR department.

This academic year we have 60 students that have applied and qualified for a Tax Credit Scholarship through either the Big Shoulders Fund SGO or Empower Illinois SGO. These 60 young adults are committed to being Lions for Life but need your assistance.
