Eighth-grade students interested in attending Saint Viator High School are invited to take the entrance exam for the 2027–2028 school year.
Registration opens Friday, November 13. The entrance exam fee is $25.

About The Exam
Saint Viator administers the High School Placement Test (HSPT), developed by Scholastic Testing Services. The exam assesses verbal, quantitative, reading, mathematics, and language skills.
Exam results help determine appropriate freshman course placement.
Event Day Information
Students should arrive between 7:30 and 7:45 a.m. The exam begins at 8:00 a.m. and is expected to conclude between 11:00 and 11:30 a.m.
Students should bring:
- Two #2 pencils
- A completed Parent Permission Release Form
Calculators are not permitted.
If your student is sick on exam day, contact Katie Santucci at ksantucci@saintviator.com for information about make-up testing. In the event of inclement weather, check our website or social media for updates.
Testing Accommodations
Special accommodations will be provided for students taking the placement exam. If your student normally receives accommodations on tests and would like to use accommodations on the placement exam, please complete the Request for Accommodations on the High School Placement Test Form. This form, along with your student's IEP, 504 plan, or psychoeducational testing documenting a diagnosed learning difference, must be submitted to Mrs. Erica Fuja, Scanlan Center director, no later than November 15.

Early Acceptance
Receive an admissions decision before Christmas! Students applying to the Class of 2031 may participate in Early Acceptance by completing the following steps:

Register for and take the entrance exam on Saturday, December 5, 2026. Select the “Early Acceptance” box on the exam registration form.

Email the following documents to earlyacceptance@saintviator.com by Tuesday, December 8, 2026:

7th- and 8th-grade standardized test scores (MAP, iReady, or PSAT)

Most recent 8th-grade report card, if available

7th-grade report card

Early Acceptance decisions will be emailed by Friday, December 18, 2026. Documents received on or after December 9 will not be considered for Early Acceptance.
No additional fee is required beyond the standard $25 entrance exam fee. Early Acceptance is not available to students taking a make-up exam.
Students who do not participate or whose required documents are not received by the deadline will receive their admissions decisions by Friday, January 29, 2027.
After the Exam
Families who do not participate in Early Acceptance will receive regular admissions decisions at the end of January. HSPT scores and tuition assistance awards will also be shared at the end of January.
A $400 non-refundable deposit and signed contract will be required in February to reserve your student’s place. After submitting the deposit, families will be invited to meet with a counselor to select courses.
