STUDENT HANDBOOK UPDATE: PANTS/SLACKS POLICY (EFFECTIVE 2026-27)

Beginning with the 2026-27 school year, students are required to wear professional, chino-style uniform pants. Pants must be navy or khaki, worn at the waist, extend to the ankles, and remain unaltered aside from hemming. Skirts, shorts, and cargo pants are not permitted under regular dress code.

SUMMER ASSIGNMENTS

Summer assignments for the 2026-27 school year are now posted on the Summer Reading & Assignments Resource Board in Blackbaud.

SAINT VIATOR BOOK BUNDLE

This year, you will once again have the opportunity to order a Saint Viator Book Bundle from McKenna Marketplace and take care of all your paperback orders in one fell swoop at a massive discount! Laura McLeod, the McKenna Marketplace manager, has organized a bulk order through Barnes & Noble, and you can place your order using this link. Books are available at 35% off the list price (cheaper than Amazon!), and shipping is free. Your books will be ready by the first day of class, and you'll have saved yourself a complex online order or a gas-guzzling trip to various bookstores while supporting Saint Viator High School to boot!

A couple of important notes:
  • Bundles are only available for English courses.
  • Bundles do not include summer reading books, which you must buy before the first day of school.
  • One or two courses use e-texts for larger anthologies or feature a student-choice assignment, which you will purchase separately during the semester (some e-texts will be paid for via prepaid codes).
  • You can order bundles for up to two students on a single order. If you have three or more students, please place a second order.
  • Before ordering, please check your student's course registrations carefully on Blackbaud (on the Course Requests tab or Performance --> Unofficial Transcript) or in the email you received during the freshman registration process.  We cannot provide refunds for incorrectly ordered bundles or in response to last-minute registration changes.
  • On the order form, please choose pickup, not shipping. Barnes & Noble will send the books to the school, and students will receive their bundles in class from their teachers.
  • Orders are due by 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10. Students will receive their bundles in class in August.

iPAD UPDATE

Incoming freshmen taking summer school will receive their school-managed iPads on the first day of summer school. More information regarding iPad pickup will be shared in August. Please contact the Director of Instructional Technology, Mr. Tom Foster at tfoster@saintviator.com or 847-392-4050, ext. 217 with questions.
