Meet Our New Faculty Members

This school year, Saint Viator High School proudly welcomes nine exceptional educators to our faculty. Each brings a wealth of experience, unique talents, and a shared dedication to fostering faith, learning, and community. From accomplished researchers and seasoned educators to alumni returning to inspire the next generation, these new faculty members embody the Viatorian mission of academic excellence, servant leadership, and lifelong growth.

We are delighted to introduce them to our community and look forward to the many ways they will enrich the lives of our students and families.

Mrs. Haley Adams is excited to join the English and Scanlan departments at Saint Viator, bringing her passion for inclusive education to the classroom. She has been a high school Catholic educator for eight years and holds a BA in Special Education (LBS-1) from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. Mrs. Adams has experience teaching students across a wide range of abilities, and her teaching philosophy is rooted in teaching the whole student.

“I love teaching high school students; every day has the potential to bring something fun and new! Getting to know my students on a deeper level is a fundamental part of my teaching practice, and I am excited to be a part of the Saint Viator family.”

Ms. Lisa Boris brings over 15 years of experience in Catholic ministry and teaching to the Saint Viator Theology Department. Ms. Boris has served in four different dioceses in three states and at several all-girls schools. She holds a degree in Pastoral/Youth Ministry, as well as Spanish, from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. She loves experiencing the beauty of God’s creation by doing anything outdoors (camping, walking, boating). She serves as the Chief Finance and Operations Officer for United Catholic Youth Ministries and has a summer job providing travel opportunities for people with disabilities.

"I love working in a Catholic school and being able to pray with and for my students. I love teaching theology because you get to know your students on a personal level and challenge them to live out the Gospel every day. I am excited to learn more about the Viatorian charism and be a part of this faith-filled and vibrant community."

Mr. Sam Carens, a Saint Viator alumnus from the class of 2021, returns as a first-year social studies teacher. He holds a BA in History from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

“When I am in the classroom, I am full of energy! I have a passion for developing critical reading and writing skills and helping students find their voice. I feel incredibly excited to pass forward the passion instilled in me by my teachers to the next generation of Saint Viator students.”

Ms. Sheila Edstrom brings 30 years of teaching experience to Saint Viator’s Science Department. She holds a BA in Physics from the College of the Holy Cross, a Jesuit college in Worcester, MA. She also has an Ed.M. in Science Education from Harvard University in Cambridge, MA. She conducts extensive consulting for the College Board, serving as both a test writer and reviewer for the AP Physics exams. She also serves in a leadership capacity for the College Board Reading every spring. Her favorite topics in physics are those that fall under the branch of physics known as electricity and magnetism, but she also enjoys creating new lab experiences for topics in mechanics.

"I have four children myself, and they have given me purpose to press forward in the toughest of times. I do not take it lightly when parents trust me with their own children. I want my students to feel challenged, but more importantly, I want them to take pride in their accomplishments in physics. I am very excited to join Saint Viator! It has already proven to be a massive blessing in my life."

Ms. Caylee Fournier is a dedicated and passionate educator committed to creating a learner-driven environment where diverse perspectives are not only welcomed but also celebrated. She holds a Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Sciences from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has recently earned her Master of Arts in Literature from Northwestern University in Evanston, where she received the Distinguished Thesis Award. She embraces “deperfectionism” and encourages a mindset where both students and teachers focus on progress over perfection.

"I absolutely love teaching and English, and am blessed by the relationships and knowledge I’ve gained through them! So much of my happiness comes from my relationships with students and watching them grow over time. I’m excited to begin this next chapter at Saint Viator High School and am filled with hope and anticipation for the experiences that this upcoming year holds."

Mrs. Diana Guerrieri brings 13 years of teaching experience to Saint Viator’s English Department. She earned a BA in Language Arts Education from Augustana College and an MA in English Studies from Elmhurst University. She is an avid reader, particularly enjoying historical fiction.

"I am so excited to join the Saint Viator High School faculty this year. I look forward to helping students grow as critical readers, thoughtful writers, and persuasive speakers. I’m thrilled to join a school community that strives for academic excellence while grounding students in faith and purpose."

Mrs. Antonia Mosca is a passionate Italian language educator who has been inspiring American students since 2010. She holds a BA in Sociology with a minor in Communication and Mass Media from the University of Federico II di Napoli. She is an education enthusiast who, in March 2025, earned a Master of Education (M.Ed.), solidifying her commitment to fostering growth and learning.

Her lessons extend far beyond grammar and vocabulary; they are immersive journeys through Southern Italy, woven into her teaching. Whether she’s introducing students to Da Vinci’s discoveries or guiding them through the nuances of regional dialects, her goal is always the same: to spark curiosity and foster a deep appreciation for Italian culture.

Her teaching style is dynamic, inclusive, and rooted in real-world communication. Mrs. M. believes that language is a living bridge between people, and she delights in watching her students grow in confidence as they connect with Italy’s rich heritage.

Outside the classroom, Mrs. M. leads online cultural workshops, organizes Italian film nights, and cooking sessions where students learn to make traditional dishes, such as gnocchi and tiramisù. Her dedication to cultural exchange has made her a beloved figure in the communities she serves.

Mr. Donny Moore brings sixteen years of experience in Catholic education and a deep commitment to student formation to Saint Viator. A graduate of Knox College (B.A., Anthropology and Sociology) and Loyola University Chicago (M.A., Social Justice). Before entering the classroom, he worked as a youth development specialist at the Cook County Juvenile Temporary Detention Center. There, he witnessed both the urgency of justice and the cost of disconnection, sparking a call to more integrative ministry. Catholic education offered that alignment—uniting belief and action in a space where students are known, accompanied, and challenged to grow.

Mr. Jim Wills brings over 33 years of teaching experience in public education to Saint Viator’s CTE Department. He holds a BS in Mathematics from the University of Illinois at Chicago and an MS in Software Engineering from DePaul University. Music, film, and golf top his list of hobbies, with “2001: A Space Odyssey” being his all-time favorite film.

“Learning is truly a blessing, and I am extremely honored and excited to be joining the outstanding students, faculty, and staff here at Saint Viator High School. Go Lions!”
