Two Seniors Selected for ILMEA District 7 Honors Choir
Saint Viator High School proudly congratulates seniors Joe Kaiser and Katie Strzyzynski on their selection to the prestigious Illinois Music Educators Association (ILMEA) District 7 Honors Choir.
Each year, hundreds of talented vocalists from across District 7—representing schools such as Stevenson, Buffalo Grove, Glenview, and Hersey—audition for a place in this elite ensemble. Katie, for her third out of four years, and Joe stood out among their peers through their outstanding musicianship and dedication.
To qualify, the students were required to learn and perform five songs, demonstrate tonal skills and scales, and submit their performances for evaluation by music professionals. Their hard work and talent earned them spots in the District 7 Honors Choir, which will perform in concert on November 8, 2025, at Grayslake North High School.
Participation in the District Festival also makes them eligible for selection to the ILMEA All-State Festival, to be held in Peoria this January.
Congratulations, Katie and Joe, on this remarkable accomplishment!
