Six Students Selected for ILMEA District 7 Festival

Congratulations to the six Saint Viator choir students that were chosen to sing in this weekend’s Illinois Music Education Association’s District 7 Honors Choir.

After months of preparation learning a challenging repertoire, Isabella Schieler '23, Jack Lynch '21, Sophia Limberakis '21, Garrett LaFleur '23, Lily Baroud '21, and Claire Capra '22 competed against thousands of other students in early October for inclusion in the annual festivals. They were recently announced as District 7 winners. They will be participating in the Virtual Choir Honors Festival this weekend.

Those selected as the best of the state will advance to the All-State Festival that will be held in May 2021.

"We are so very proud of these students doing such excellent work in these very challenging times," said Choral Director Joleen Kragt. "They have really gone above and beyond!"
