Saint Viator High School is pleased to announce that it has been recognized as an Apple Distinguished School for 2019-2022 for its ongoing commitment to innovation and use of technology to enhance student learning. The school was also designated with the same recognition for 2015-2017 and 2017-2019.

Apple Distinguished Schools are centers of innovation, leadership, and educational excellence that use technology to inspire creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking. They showcase innovative uses of technology in learning, teaching, and the school environment and have documented results of academic accomplishment.

“We are happy to be recognized once again with this important designation,” said Karen Love, principal of Saint Viator High School. “We have received the award continuously since 2015, which reinforces our vision of being a school where tradition and innovation meet. The selection of Saint Viator as an Apple Distinguished School highlights our success as a compelling learning environment that engages students, prepares them to succeed, and utilizes current digital tools and skills.”

All Saint Viator students use iPad devices and 98 percent of school textbooks are digital. The school has two MacBook labs, where students take Mobile Apps Programming, AP Computer Science, Adobe Photoshop, Introduction to Programming, and Introduction to Entrepreneurship courses. A number of Saint Viator visual art classes integrate iPad into their curriculum including a Digital Music Production course and an iPad Media Arts course.
