Saint Viator Students Selected for ILMEA District 7 Honors Ensembles
Saint Viator High School proudly congratulates seniors Katie Strzyzynski, Joe Kaiser, and Claire Franczyk on their selection to the prestigious Illinois Music Educators Association (ILMEA) District 7 Honors Ensembles.
Katie and Joe earned places in the District 7 Honors Choir, while Claire was selected to perform in the District 7 Honors Band, where she will represent Saint Viator on the flute.
Each year, hundreds of talented student musicians from across District 7—representing schools such as Stevenson, Buffalo Grove, Glenview, and Hersey—audition for a spot in these elite groups. To qualify, students must prepare multiple selections, demonstrate tonal skills and scales, and submit auditions judged by music professionals.
This marks Katie Strzyzynski’s third consecutive year being selected for the District Honors Choir and Claire Franczyk’s second.
The District 7 Honors Choir and Band will perform in concert on November 8, 2025, at Grayslake North High School. All three students are now eligible for consideration in the ILMEA All-State Festival, to be held in Peoria this January.
Congratulations to our talented Saint Viator musicians!
