Leadership and Honor Societies

  • CHAMPIONS CLUB

    The Champions Club serves as a support and leadership organization for Saint Viator athletes. Student-athletes will have the opportunity to plan and lead discussions on numerous issues. Some would be common to all athletes, such as balancing school and sports, sportsmanship, and sports and faith; and others would be more specific, such as dealing with an injury or perusing collegiate sports. The club would also help organize service opportunities and fundraisers.
  • ICC: INTER-CLASS COUNCIL

    ICC is the Executive Board of Student Government and sponsors all class elections. Officers are elected in the spring for the next school year; freshman officers and representatives are elected in September. Members meet once a week during the school year and as needed during the summer.
  • LINK CREW

    LINK Crew is Saint Viator’s freshman and transfer student transition program. LINK leaders are juniors and seniors who have been invited to join after receiving faculty nominations and recommendations. They serve as mentors to the freshman class and provide social and academic support throughout the school year.
  • MU ALPHA THETA / NATIONAL MATH HONOR SOCIETY

    Mu Alpha Theta is the National High School and Two-Year College Mathematics Honor Society. Membership is invitation only. Students are required to participate in math contests, attend meetings and provide peer tutoring.
  • NATIONAL ART HONOR SOCIETY

    The society provides advanced art experiences for students. They participate in various art service projects and coordinate Winter and Spring Fine Arts Weeks. It is open to any student who has completed an art class at Saint Viator and has an interest in creating art.
  • NATIONAL CHINESE HONOR SOCIETY

    Membership in the National Chinese Honor Society is by invitation only. To be eligible, a student must: 
    • be a junior or senior
    • currently enrolled in Chinese III or higher
    • have maintained a cumulative average of 93% in Chinese I & II
    To remain an active member, a student must study Chinese for four years. Membership invitations are sent in October. 
  • NATIONAL FRENCH HONOR SOCIETY

    Membership in the National French Honor Society is by invitation only. To be eligible, a student must:
    • Have a minimum of 93% grade point average through four semesters in French.
    • be a junior or senior
    • currently enrolled in French III or higher
    To remain eligible, a student must take French all four years or complete AP French.
  • NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY

    The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. Students who meet the qualifications are invited to apply after the first semester of their junior year. The Student Handbook includes specific details about these qualifications. The Saint Viator chapter participates in several leadership and service activities throughout the year, including a peer-tutoring program, fundraisers, ushering at events, and open house.
  • NATIONAL ITALIAN HONOR SOCIETY

    Membership in the National Italian Honor Society is by invitation only. To be eligible, a student must:
    • members must be at least a junior
    • currently enrolled in Italian III
    • have maintained a 93% average through Italian I & II
  • NATIONAL SPANISH HONOR SOCIETY

    Membership in the National Spanish Honor Society is by invitation only. To be eligible, a student:
    • members must be at least a junior or senior
    • currently enrolled in Spanish III or higher
    • have maintained a 95% average for four semesters or a 93% average for six semesters
  • STUDENT COUNCIL

    Five councils of elected officers and class representatives make up Student Council. All councils participate in service projects, fundraisers, and events sponsored by Student Council. Members of the councils are scheduled into four grade-level homerooms. They attend meetings once a week before school and as needed. Members also attend a summer workshop in August.

    The councils organize all Homecoming activities, which include coronation, Games Day, a pep rally, and the dance. They also sponsor pep rallies, blood drives and other service projects, informal dances, Winter Ball/Turn-About Dance, Senior Prom, an annual Variety Show, community funfairs for local children, and several social and spirit activities during the year. The Student Council works with the Administration to increase school spirit and Lion Pride.
  • TRI-M MUSIC HONOR SOCIETY

    Tri-M is the International Music Honor Society, for which students are selected by meeting specific criteria. A student must participate in a music class or ensemble at least one semester of the current school year. The student must have a grade point average of 93% or better in music and an 85% or better overall. Finally, the student must demonstrate character strength in areas of service, leadership, and cooperation. Members will complete various service projects throughout the school year.

Saint Viator High School

Located in Arlington Heights, IL, Saint Viator High School is a private, co-ed, Catholic school for grades 9-12. Students benefit from a challenging academic program, fine and performing arts, competitive athletics, and a wide selection of extracurricular activities.
