Spring Sports Recap

Congratulations to our spring student-athletes on an incredible year-end season. Various teams and students made Saint Viator High School history. Read more about their accomplishments below.

Baseball
The team won the Conference and Regional companionships with a record of 35-3. In the ESCC, Tony Pluta and Casey Hintz were named Co-Players of the Year. Casey was also named Pitcher of the Year, Tony was named Offensive Player of the Year, Zan Von Schlegell was named Defensive Player of the Year, and Mike Manno was named Coach of the Year. 

Boys Track
Michael Schumacher placed 2nd at the IHSA State Meet in the 3200m run after finishing 1st in the 1600m and 3200m at Sectionals where Danny Crawford placed 2nd in the 200m, Michael Carlucci placed 1st in the 300m hurdles, and the 4x400 relay team (Austin Kanyuh, A. Madaras, R. McDonnell, L. Doland) placed 2nd. 

Girls Track
Emmi Scales won the State Championship in all 3 races in which she competed – 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles, and 100m dash. Emmi and Mary Grace Hegberg along with 4x400 relay team of Sidney Jones, Caroline Schermerhorn, Katie Fitzpatrick, and Catie Glass finished 4th at the State Meet. Mary Grace placed 3rd in State in both the 1600m and 3200m. Emmi and Mary Grace Hegberg were named ESCC Co-Track Athletes of the Year. Emmi also took 1st in the 60m sprint at the Illinois Top Time Indoor State Championship as well as 2nd in the 60m hurdles.

Boys Volleyball
Ronan Valera was named All-Conference.

Bass Fishing
For the second time since the team’s inception in 2009, the program advanced to State. The team also placed 2nd at Sectionals.

Boys Lacrosse
The team celebrated a Conference championship with a 5-0 record, and a Sectional Championship. Cade Faulkner, Carson Eggebraten, Colton Faulkner, Isaac Harrington, Leo Izquierdo, and Jayden Franzen were named All-Conference. Carson Eggebraten was named ESCC Player of the Year.

Girls Lacrosse
Annie Kate McAndrews, Eliza Perry, Margaret Towle, and Aleese Warner were named All-Conference.

Softball
Senior infielder Allison Ardito and junior infielder Brooke Cwick were named All-Conference.

Girls Soccer
The team claimed a Regional Championship. Taylor Brackett, Emilie Doersching, Sydney Grant,  Gabriella Letto, and Emma Ziebka were named to the All-Conference Team.
