Spanish Teacher and Department Chair from 1997-2017
Favorite Saint Viator/Sacred Heart memory: I don’t really have a favorite memory of my time there, but I remember all my students were wonderful people. Some were better students than others, but all were great individuals. I truly enjoyed each and every one. I love when I see someone that I had in class come up and tell me what they’re doing now.
Impact teaching at Saint Viator/Sacred Heart had on you: I wish my students all great success. I enjoyed my time there and miss the students. Even though I am no longer teaching, I still consider myself an educator.
Former colleagues you stay in touch with: I still stay in touch with Rosemary Castellucci and Dan Lydon, although I would enjoy hearing from some of my other colleagues.
Town you currently reside in: I still live in Palatine, IL.
What you are doing now: People did not believe that I would “reinvent” myself, but I did. I got a Paralegal Certificate from Harper and now work as a Paralegal at the Law Offices of Constance M Doyle in Palatine. We do immigration law. I would say that about 95% of our clientele is Hispanic, so my Spanish is VERY useful and necessary. (What else would you expect??) I love it. It was a good change for me. Here is a spotlight on my reinvention journey on Harper’s website.
Message for former colleagues and students: Follow your dreams, do what makes you happy, and don’t be afraid to try new things!
