Anonymous Donor Doubles Scholarship Opportunities for Class of 2025 Applicants

President Brian Liedlich announced today that a recently launched scholarship program for members of the Class of 2025 will be doubled thanks to an anonymous donor.

Scholarship eligibility requires that applicants take the Placement Exam at Saint Viator on December 5. Among those taking the exam, scholarships will now be awarded in the following increments:
  • Students scoring in the 97-99th percentile will be awarded $5,000 for the first year and $2,500 per year for the remaining three years
  • Students scoring in the 94-96th percentile will be awarded $3,000 for the first year and $1,500 per year for the remaining three years
  • Students scoring in the 90-93rd percentile will be awarded $2,000 for the first year and $1,000 per year for the remaining three years
“Our entire community is grateful to our donor and their family,” said Brian Liedlich, President of Saint Viator High School. “With all of the challenges of the last year, we have seen more than ever the value of a Catholic education. Our efforts to provide in-school opportunities for faith-formation and academic excellence have resonated with many families and being able to provide additional opportunities for the Class of 2025 is a sign of the strength of our community.”

Liedlich noted that by meeting criteria, those receiving these scholarships will receive between $5,000 and $12,500 over the course of four years. He also pointed out that Saint Viator also offers tuition assistance to eligible students.

“In the current year we are already providing nearly two million dollars of financial assistance to approximately one-third of our student body,” he said. “Because of generous donors like this family, we continue to make a Saint Viator education possible to all who seek it.”

Students who receive the scholarships will be required to maintain a B average and remain in good standing in the Viatorian Service Learning Program in order to renew their scholarship each year.

“Our Vision Statement defines our community as a place where all members of the Saint Viator family discern who God wants them to be, discover what the world needs, and transform the communities they encounter,’ Liedlich said. “Our donor who is a proud alumnus of our school has truly transformed the future for a number of prospective students and their families through their generosity.”
