Preparation Key to eLearning Success at Saint Viator

Despite the coronavirus halting in-school instruction for much of our second semester, Saint Viator students benefited from the foresight and contingency planning that had begun prior to the start of the 2019-2020 school year. While we feel strongly that nothing can replace the value of in-school learning, we do believe that many of our college preparatory standards were upheld during the eLearning period.

Our goals during this remote learning period included:
  • Promote student learning of essential skills/concepts, and/or understanding of content
  • Provide students with meaningful opportunities to demonstrate their learning of essentials skills/concepts, and/or understanding of content
  • Provide meaningful engagement that is scaffolded to meet the essential skills/concepts, and/or understanding of content

Our achievements included:
  • A 98.3% attendance rate for our eLearning classes.
  • Full accountability for assigned work.
  • Collectively, over 300 of our students completed more than 500 AP exams.
  • The mission of creating a community where faith is lived, deepened, and celebrated allowed us to stay more closely connected, providing a sense of community and normalcy during uncertain times, and in many cases, reach out to those around us who were in physical and spiritual need.

Thank you to our staff, faculty, students, and parents who contributed to the success we experienced. We are blessed to be a part of such a committed community, and we will remain diligent in serving the academic needs of our students under any conditions we face in the coming academic year.
