Saint Viator Cheerleading Program Under New Leadership

Saint Viator High School has announced the hiring of Jordan Cores as the new Head Coach for the Cheerleading program. Saint Viator Athletic Director Jason Kuffel made the announcement on Friday.

“We are extremely fortunate to have found someone with the background and unique characteristics that Jordan will bring to our cheerleading program,” said Kuffel. “He has been a part of successful programs at all levels as both a participant and a coach, and his energy and commitment to running a successful program were evident in our interviews with him.”

Cores has served as Assistant Varsity Cheerleading Coach at York High School and was a part of NCA award-winning collegiate teams at Northern Illinois University and Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri. He holds a BA in Organizational Corporate Communications from Northern and is completing work on an MBA in Leadership at Lindenwood.

“Successful cheerleading programs are built on discipline, technique. athleticism and safety,” said Cores. “The Saint Viator program is well-respected throughout Illinois and I look forward to working with these student-athletes to help them as they further their development as a cohesive and successful team.”

The Saint Viator Cheerleading program has qualified for the state tournament multiple times in the past decade and was a state finalist three times, including a state championship in 2012.

“Jordan brings not only great cheerleading experience but also relevant work experience in private business that will allow him to run an organized and successful program,” said Kuffel. “I look forward to having him on campus and helping us further establish the Viator Way across our athletic program.”
