When Prof. Anna Clara Ionta from Loyola University came to our AP Italian class, we knew that she would have given us a lecture on Italian gestures, but we would never have imagined how amusing the lesson would have been. We didn't know that gestures were a per se language and up to that moment, we weren't even sure of their real meanings. But when she began to teach gestures such as "Who cares!", "Enough!", "How scary!", we quickly understood that gestures show a different side of the Italian culture: the vitality, the spontaneity.
