Special Circumstances Grants

Special Circumstances Grants are awarded in the event of unexpected financial difficulty once the school year has begun. Contact the Controller any time after the start of the school year to discuss your situation if assistance becomes necessary. 

Parents’ Club Grant — Up to $5,000 Established by the Parents’ Club in 2013 to honor the Viatorian mission of meeting the educational and spiritual needs of young people. Awarded to a student whose family experiences financial difficulty after the school year has begun. (limited number/emergency grant) 

Kathryn Schafer Grant — $1,000 to $2,000 Established in 2002 to honor Kathryn Schafer, an alumni mother and a former teacher at St. Alphonsus Liguori School. Awarded to an upperclassman whose family is experiencing serious financial difficulty. (junior/seniors only/emergency grant) 

Tim Halpin Memorial Grant — $1,000 to $2,000 Established in 2010 in loving memory of Timothy J. Halpin ’90 by his family, classmates and friends. Awarded to a student whose family requires tuition assistance due to a job loss, death, illness, etc. (limited number/emergency grant) 

Rev. Patrick Render, C.S.V. Grant — $1,000 Established in 1993 by the Edmond Shanahan family to honor Fr. Render, C.S.V., former teacher, Dean, Principal and President, for his many years of service to Saint Viator. Awarded to a student whose family requires tuition assistance due to a job loss, death, illness, etc. (limited number/emergency grant) 

Robert C. Artman Grant — $500 to $1,000 Established in 1999 by the Saint Viator High School Athletic Club to honor the memory of Robert Artman, Athletic Director for Saint Viator High School. Awarded to a senior whose family requires tuition assistance due to a job loss, death, illness, etc. (seniors only/emergency grant)
