Inviting international students to experience faith-based, college preparatory education


The Reverend Mark R. Francis, C.S.V. International Program at Saint Viator High School provides a supportive environment that focuses on a student's needs and enables him/her to develop the cultural understanding and performance skills necessary to function appropriately and successfully in both academic and social situations.

General Information

  • International students must attend Saint Viator High school for a minimum of two years in order to receive a Saint Viator High School diploma.

  • The school requires that international students work with outside agents to enroll. It is mandatory for the student to remain under the guidance of their agency and continue to work with the agent/agency during their enrollment at Saint Viator High School. Students will not be allowed to change agencies.
  • Students are mainstreamed into regular or honors college prep courses in preparation for entrance into U.S. universities and colleges.

  • As part of the graduation requirements, students will be enrolled in Theology classes, beginning with the course, Fundamentals of the Catholic Faith.

  • Students are required to complete 25 hours of Christian Service each year of attendance.

  • To date, 100% of the international students at Saint Viator have been accepted into U.S. colleges and universities.

Application Process

  • Interested students should complete the International Application in English and submit the completed forms to the International Program Director and Testing Coordinator, Mr. Austin Bellino at

  • Since Saint Viator offers no ESL program, students must demonstrate an above school average ability to read and understand spoken English by taking the TOEFL Junior, iTEP SLATE or SSAT.
    *Code for TOEFL is 5347. Official scores should be sent with the application. 

  • Once the completed application is received in the director’s office, it will be considered for acceptance. If the student meets academic requirements, a letter of acceptance will be sent to the parents and/or agent of the student. 

  • After an international student is accepted to Saint Viator High School,  a $500 DEPOSIT IS DUE WITHIN TWO WEEKS to finalize the acceptance. The deposit MUST identify who the student is and should also be labeled with the student's I.D. number available on the acceptance letter. 

  • The I-20 Application must be completed as soon as possible after the student has paid their $500 deposit. A non-refundable check/money order for $250 (U.S.), payable to the Archdiocese of Chicago, must accompany the I-20 Application.

  • I-20 applications should only be submitted after a student has been accepted to Saint Viator High School.

Tuition and Fees for International Students

  • Saint Viator High School tuition for 2019-2020 is $14,353
  • An additional fee of $2500 is required of all international students for the Rev. Mark R. Francis, C.S.V. International Program
  • A non-refundable application fee of $500 (will be applied toward tuition) must be paid within 2 weeks of the student being accepted
  • Full tuition is due July 1 for the full school year
  • Financial aid is not available to assist international students

Additional Fees Not Covered by Tuition

  • SEVIS Fee: $275 (paid online or by a check made payable to Archdiocese of Chicago)
  • iPad (We recommend that you purchase the latest iPad 128 GB with Wi-Fi or iPad Pro 9.7 128 GB with Wi-Fi.)
  • Uniform pants should be ordered through Land's End. The remainder of the school uniform can be purchased when the student arrives for Orientation.
  • eBooks, books and supplies: cost varies from year to year for students and will be added to Fees/Payments statement in August

Post-Admission Checklist:

  • NOTE: A non-refundable application fee of $500 (Payable by check/money order/bank transfer to Saint Viator High School) due within 2 weeks of acceptance
  • Physical and Eye Exam form
  • Immunization Records and State of Illinois Eye Exam Form Required before beginning classes
