Purpose
The Campus Ministry Program works to create and
support the ongoing process of Christian formation at Saint Viator
High School. We provide a comprehensive Campus Ministry Program
which incorporate religious beliefs and values into everyday student life
through services, programs, and activities for participation by the
entire Saint Viator community.
Retreats
Saint Viator High School
offers retreat experiences for students of all grade levels.
All
retreat dates are for the 2008-09 school year. Students are
responsible for making up any school work that is missed while on
retreat.

Freshmen
This
retreat is a required experience for all Freshmen. Freshmen attend
their retreat the semester they are enrolled in religion class.

Sophomores
Freshmen
and Sophomores can attend an optional Quest Retreat. This
retreat is led by sophomores under the direction of one of the
Campus Ministers. Students focus on the call to love
themselves, others and God. Students who attend this retreat
miss one day of school.

Juniors
Juniors
have 2 choices for their optional retreat experiences. The first
option is a 2 day, 1 night retreat at Resurrection Retreat Center
in Woodstock. This retreat includes small and large group
discussions, community building activities, mass, reconciliation,
and quiet time for reflection. Juniors choosing this option will be
absent from classes for 2 days. Juniors may also attend Kairos.

Seniors
Seniors
have the option of going on a Kairos retreat. Kairos is Latin for
"God's Time" Kairos is a 3 days, 3 night intensive retreat that is
led by a team of 10 student leaders. Each day of Kairos has a
different theme.
The
themes of the day are:
Who am I?
Who is Jesus?
What is the message of Jesus for me?
How do I
respond to that message in my life?

Juniors and Seniors may attend the Kairos retreat. For the
November and February Kairos, seniors have first preference in
signing up. If all the available spaces are not taken by
seniors by the deadline date, juniors will be allowed to fill
the remaining spots. Please check with the Campus Ministry
office for deadline dates.

Service Trips
Campus Ministry sponsors weeklong service
opportunities through Habitat for Humanity. These trips are open to
juniors and seniors. The destination of these trips changes. See Ms. Fons for more information.
Worship Services
As a Catholic community, we celebrate our
faith in a variety of ways. One of the most important ways is
through a regular celebration of the Eucharist. Students are
encouraged to participate in these celebrations through a variety
of ministries including: choir, Eucharistic ministers, ushers
and liturgical dancers.
