2008-09 Poms Squad Roster view

Description of Program

The Saint Viator Pom Pons squad consists of members of all grade levels. Tryouts are held in April of the preceding school year. The Lionettes begin their training in the summer with a team ballet class held at the Northwest Ballet Academy in Schaumburg, culminating in a two-day private dance camp, lead by the National Dance Alliance.

The Lionettes perform during halftime at all home football and basketball games, as well as pep assemblies. They are members of Team Dance Illinois and compete in jazz and pom categories with the ultimate goal of qualifying for the State Competition held in Peoria.

The Lionettes participate in charity events each year. This year's squad participated in the Crohn's and Colitis Take Steps Walk. The dancers raised $1300 as a team for this event.

Each month the girls have one day of team bonding. The philosophy of this team is to grow as a family. It is a team filled with respect and support for one another.

The Saint Viator Pom Pons squad has earned high marks for the past 14 years throughout the Chicago metropolitan area and the State of Illinois. They continue to improve and reinvent themselves as a team each year.
