The Fishing Club / IHSA Bass Fishing Team focuses on developing both knowledge and skills necessary to catch freshwater fish and in particular, largemouth bass. Activities may include selection and maintenance of tackle, studying the nature and habits of fish, fish location, understanding seasonal movements of fish, predator / prey relationships, lure selection, lure presentation and safety skills. Special emphasis will be placed on the development of accurate casting skills. The club is open to all students. Members of the club will have the opportunity to qualify for the Saint Viator Bass Fishing Team and represent the school in the IHSA Bass Fishing Team Tournament in April.
