Fall 2010 Summary
VARSITY SOCCER – The soccer team was ESCC & Regional Champions. Jack Horvath was named ESCC Player of the Year. All-Conference players: Jack Horvath, Nick Abel, Scott Faul, Adam Fetter, Billy Krawzak and Daniel Loizzi. Daily Herald All-Area team members: Jack Horvath, Billy Krawzak and Adam Fetter. All-Sectional players: Jack Horvath and Adam Fetter. All-State player: Jack Horvath.
GIRLS’ SWIMMING – The girls’ varsity swim team compiled a dual meet record of 11 wins and 1 loss. Their season began with a streak of 11 straight wins. They were the champions at the Maine West Varsity Invite in October.
BOYS’ CROSS COUNTRY – Boys' cross country finished first at the Robert Artman Invite and first in the ESCC Pre-Season Invite. All-conference medalists: Kevin Schreiber, Eric Loy and Peter Cleary.
GIRLS’ CROSS COUNTRY – Girls' cross country has had a super season taking first at the I-COPS, Artman and Niles West Invites. The Varsity team won the conference championship for the first time in 17 years edging Benet by one point. All-conference medalists: Meghan Carroll, Hanna Winter and Keegan Griebel. Meghan was also first at the conference meet and is the ESCC Runner of the Year. Hanna Winter and Meghan Carroll were state qualifiers finishing 36th and 71st respectively. Coach Jim Milner was ESCC Coach of the Year.
GIRLS' VOLLEYBALL – Emily Leazer made the ESCC All-Conference team. Emily Leazer, Lauren Bunda and Carlyn Clevenger were named to the Daily Herald All-Area team.
BOYS' VARSITY GOLF – Varsity golf recaptured the ESCC Championship this year, defeating Carmel by one stroke at the tournament. Nick VanStedum, Rick Gattone, Luke DeTrempe and Pat Schuetz were All-Conference medalists. Rick Gattone was a state qualifier.
GIRLS' GOLF – Amy Stringfellow and Dana Gattone were All-Conference medalists with the team finishing third in the ESCC this year. Molly McMahon and Dana Gattone advanced to the IHSA Sectionals with Dana going downstate to the finals.
FOOTBALL – ESCC All-Conference team members: Sean Carney, Justin Johnson, Mike Krzoska and Jimmy Menges.
