Two recent Saint Viator Lions softball graduates are now playing softball in college.
Tayler Lenart ’11 was a walk-on at the University of South Carolina (D1) and is playing outfield and batting second for the Gamecocks. Tayler played for the Varsity Lions for four years as our catcher. Tayler picked off eleven players from second base and three from third base in her final season with the Lions. She received an all-area honorable mention as a senior.
Julie Sweeney ’11 is playing for the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh this fall. In her first time at bat, she singled. She pitched the second game of a double-header and got her first college win. Julie was a four year varsity starter for the Lions. She pitched and played first base. She is the Lions all-time leading pitcher in wins and strike-outs. She also holds the team record for most home runs in a season and in a career. Julie was the varsity MVP twice and received all-conference and all-area nominations as a junior and senior. |
