Saint Viator vs. Marian Catholic

Saint 182 Marian 206
Current Team Record: 8-0-0 in conference 14-0-0 overall

Short Summary/Recap of Game
Saint Viator class of 2010 finished its second year in a row undefeated in ESCC dual matches by beating a well coached Marian team. Kelly Sullivan & Hailey Haworth led the way shooting 43 in very tough conditions. Abby Dickey 47 and Hallie Dunn 49 were the other top scores. Amy Stringfellow and Jill Haworth also carded 49 followed by Molly O'Keeffe 51 and Molly McMahon 54.

Top Performers/Scorers: Sullivan 43 H. Haworth 43
Quote from the Coach: Mick Drewes
It was great to see Hailey come back from a disappointing weekend and shoot a solid score. It will be fun Thursday trying to defend our title as ESCC champs.  I started coaching the girls team four years ago when Abby, Kelly, Hallie & Hailey were freshman, they have made coaching fun. I can't believe that was our last dual match together.

Saint Viator vs. Povidence & Joliet Catholic

Conference Tri Meet
Result: Saint Viator 155, Providence 191, JCA 207
Current Team Record: 13 - 0 - 0

The Lions traveled to Woodruff Golf Course in Joliet for an ESCC tri meet. The teams top player, Abby Dickey, set the tone by shooting a 36. Hailey Haworth shot her season low, coming in with a 39. The other two scores that were used were 40's by Kelly Sullivan and Hallie Dunn. Freshman Amy Stringfellow fired a 41, and playing in her first top 6 varsity match Molly McMahon shot a 52. The win brought the Lions conference record to 7 - 0.

Top Performers/Scorers: Abby Dickey 36, Hailey Haworth 39, Kelly Sullivan 40, Hallie Dunn 40.

Quote from the Coach Drews:
The 155 is a season low for the team. I think the girls realize what is a head of them (conference, regionals, and sectionals). We started the season with goals that we knew would be difficult, and if we continue to work hard all our goals are still in our reach. I was happy. Molly McMahon got a chance to play with the seniors, which is exciting since Kelly, Hallie, Hailey, and Abby are like big sisters to the younger players.

Saint Viator vs. Carmel & Marist

Result: Saint Viator 174, Carmel 218, Marist 220
Current Team Record:10-0-0

The three teams had an opportunity to play Rolling Greens a beautiful Country Club. The course was a challange for the girls. Saint Viator showed its depth. Out of 18 scores only seven girls shot 50 or under, six of them play for the Lions. Hallie Dunn was the low with a 42, Abby Dickey battled to a 43, Kelly Sullivan 44, Hailey Haworth 45 to lead us to a 174. Molly O'Keffee playing in her first top six Varsity match came in with a solid 48. Amy Stringfellow shot 50. The win puts the Lions at 5 - 0  in the ESCC.

Top Performers/Scorers: Dunn 42, Dickey 43, Sullivan 44, H. Haworth 45

The course was wet, so a 174 is a good score. I spent most of the day watching Hallie & Hailey. By their standards they didn't play very well last Saturday in Rockford. But today I was really happy with their effort.

Saint Viator vs. Schaumburg

Saint Viator 189 Schaumburg 212
Saint Viator JV 169 Schaumburg JV 180
Current Team Record: 9-0-0

We we lead once again by senior Abby Dickey with a 43. As a team we did not play well or did we play with any purpose. However Diana Wells-English play inspired golf in her first varsity match. She shot a very competitive 54. Diana has twice won the Lions award for the J V team, but today she showed she not only has been a great teammate and a wonderful person, she showed she has work very hard to become a golfer. It was nice to see her enjoy the experience.

Top Performers/Scorers: Abby Dickey 43, Hailey Haworth 47, Jill Haworth 49, Hallie Dunn 50

Quote from the Coach: For the second straight day we struggled. I hope our top four golfer, all seniors saw what their classmate Diana Wells-English did today. She played as if playing was a privilege, she didn't beat herself up for every mistake, she had fun. I am very proud of her effort.
Molly O'Keeffe had a great 39 in the JV match.

Saint Viator vs. Benet

Saint Viator 180, Benet 200
Current Team Record: 7-0-0

On a day Old Orchard played very hard, Kelly Sullivan and Abby Dickey led the way to victory shooting 44, Hailey Haworth came in at 45, followed by Freshman Amy Stringfellow with a solid 47. Benet came into the match with a conference record of 5 wins, 0 loses, so this was a big win if we hope to repeat as ESCC champs.

Top Performers/Scorers: Sullivan 44, Dickey 44, H Haworth 45, Stringfellow 47, Dunn 49.

Quote from the Coach: This was a nice win, although after winning our own invite last Saturday we seemed a bit off. We need to play the course not the other school. Shooting a score of 180 will not get us where we want to go.

Saint Viator vs. Nazareth

Saint Viator 161 Nazareth 189
Current Team Record: 7-0-0

In a match of two undefeated teams the Lions came out focused, and shot a season low 161. All 8 girls showed solid play, however the four seniors were great. Kelly Sullivan was low with a 39. Abby Dickey shot a 40, Hallie Dunn and Hailey Haworth both came in with 41. Last season Nazareth lost only one conference match, and finished second in the ESCC tournament, both to Saint Viator. We knew they would be ready for this match. We wanted to send a message to everyone in the ESCC that we are the team to beat. The four other scores totaled 186 (good enough to beat a very good Nazareth team) Molly O'Keeffe and Molly McMahon both shot 49, Jill Haworth 45, and Amy Stringfello finished par, par, birdie for a nice 43.

Top Performers/Scorers: Sullivan 39, Dickey 40, Dunn 41, H. Haworth 41

Quote from the Coach: The four seniors are such great teammates. They push each other and get the younger girls to work on getting better.

Saint Viator vs. Fenwick

Varsity only match Saint Viator 162 Fenwick 212
Current Team Record: 6-0-0

All eight varsity players had a great day. All of the girls gave a great effort with season low nine-hole scores by Amy Stringfellow 43, Molly O'Keeffe 48, Molly McMahon 44, and a great round of 42 by junior Jill Haworth. Seniors Abby Dickey 38, Kelly Sullivan 40, Hallie Dunn 42, and Hailey Haworth 43, continue to lead by example. They made a hard course look easy.

Top Performers/Scorers: Abby Dickey 38, Kelly Sullivan 40, Jill Haworth 42, Hallie Dunn 42

Quote from the Coach: In my four years coaching the girls varsity, I have never seen a team of 8 play so well. I am so proud of all the players, however Jill Haworth has shown she wants to compete and gets the "star of the day".

September 1, 2009
Saint Viator vs. Saint Francis

Win 179 to 197
Current Team Record: 5 - 0

Abby Dickey 43, Kelly Sullivan 44, Hallie Dunn 45, Amy Stringfellow and Hailey Haworth both shot 47.

Quote from the Coach: Saint Francis was our biggest challenge so far this season. The girls just continue to get the job done. Abby Dickey never gives up... thing were not going well but she fought through some bad swings to again led the way. We played solid, but still have a lot of work to do.

August 31, 2009
Saint Viator vs. Palatine

Varsity: Win 168 to 207
JV: Win 214 to 264
Current Team Record: 4-0

Relying on experience, the four seniors on varsity led the way to this non-conference win.

Top Performers: Abby Dickey 38, Kelly Sullivan & Hailey Haworth 43, Hallie Dunn 44

Quote from the Coach: Having four solid player at the top of the ine-up takes a lot of pressure off the underclassman. Amy Stringfellow, Molly McMahon & Molly O'Keeffe are getting a chance to play varsity without having to worry about scoring early in the season. I think this will help us later in the year.

August 25, 2009
Saint Viator vs. Buffalo Grove

JV : Win 189-207
Current Team Record: 3-0

Top Performers: Abby Dickey 41, Hallie Dunn 42, Kelly Sullivan 44, ailey Haworth 45

Quote from the Coach: We are off to a good start in non conference meets, and the girls seem ready to start ESCC play against Marian today. Our four seniors led the way; I can see the work they did over the summer paying off.
