Saint Viator vs. Aurora Central Catholic

Record: 1-0
In the lions first dual meet of the season, the team decided to bring up a couple of rookie wrestlers to help fill the varsity line-up and it paid off in the end. Although Joe McManus (sophmore) was the only one to score a victory for the lions with a pin in the second period, the others gained good experience and had a solid showing for their first Varsity wrestling match. Elliot Hilgert (sophmore-130 lbs.) started the scoring for the lions with a pin in the first period and it was all Saint Viator from there - scoring 8 consecutive pins to run away with the dual.
Junior Matt Izzi, sophmore Joe Lamantia, senior William Rittmeyer, and sophmore Joe McManus also followed with pins. Senior captains Eric Abrahamian, T.J. Hohenadel, and Dominic Lullo also scored first period pins to lead the Saint Viator wrestling team. Senior captain T.J. Hohenadel also placed 7th on November 28th in the very prestigous 32 team Barrington Tournament.
Next up for the Lions is Guerin High School and Gorden Tech @ Saint Viator on Tuesday December 1, 2009
