Saint Viator High School is blessed to have a giving family community consisting of members from each of our constituent groups, including Saint Viator and Sacred Heart of Mary alumni, current and past parents and grandparents, faculty/staff and friends. Our supporters partner with the Clerics of St. Viator by generously investing in the school’s educational mission.
As a private school, the raising of significant funds is critical to our ongoing success. This takes shape in several forms:

Ongoing Annual Fundraising provide a meaningful portion of the dollars we offer in tuition assistance each year, as well as critical support for our operations, co-curricular programs and activities, and facilities/maintenance needs. These efforts include:
- Viator Foundation Annual Appeal details
Each year an appeal is made to all of the Saint Viator constituent groups for unrestricted financial support. During this appeal time, Viator Foundation members are asked to make a contribution of $500 or more to our unrestricted annual fund. These generous contributions are recognized in our Viator Foundation Annual Report. Member benefits are associated with designated giving levels.
- Special Events
Saint Viator’s Advancement Office sponsors a series of special fundraising events each year. Each of these events has a stated purpose. Your participation is essential in helping the school raise targeted funds for the school, as deemed necessary by administration and/or board committees and trustees. These annual events for 2009-2010 are:
- Wine Tasting Event details
- November 20, 2009, Rolling Green Country Club,
Arlington Heights, IL
- Night of the Lion Dinner and Gala details
- April 10, 2010, Intercontinental Hotel,
Rosemont, IL
- Million Dollar Classic Golf Outing details
- June 21, 2010, Wynstone Golf Club, North Barrington, IL
Capital Campaigns are required when Saint Viator needs to raise significant dollars to address extraordinary needs beyond that which might be possible through regular annual funding efforts. Our most recent capital campaign, Heart of the Lion, raised just over $11.2 million in gifts and pledges. We recognize future capital campaigns will be required to increase the endowment for tuition assistance and to support critical building and grounds improvements as well as other top priorities in discussion stages.
Endowment Funds designated for the purposes of tuition assistance and faculty enhancement have been established through Heart of the Lion. Funds designated for these purposes are invested under the direction of the Investment Board and the corpus is not touched. Named and/or memorial scholarship and grants have been established in coordination with the Saint Viator Advancement Office.
Deferred or Planned Gifts can provide an important reinforcement for the funding methods outlined above. The Saint Viator High School Advancement Office has begun the process of educating the Viator family regarding Planned Giving Opportunities. The Lion Legacy is being created to provide expanded opportunities for Saint Viator’s benefactors and friends to include our school in their estate planning. more details
