// Ways to Give
Saint Viator High School is blessed
to have a family of donors consisting of members of each of our
constituent groups (Saint Viator and Sacred of Mary Alumni, Current
and Past Parents and Grandparents, Faculty/Staff and Friends). Our
supporters partner with the Clerics of St. Viator by generously
investing in the school’s educational mission.
The Viatorians,
our Board of Trustees and Administration share a commitment to
provide the best faculty, curriculum, facilities and
extracurricular opportunities we can and to offer meaningful
tuition assistance to make it affordable for the largest possible
number of families. The challenge of providing a high quality
Catholic, college preparatory education to a diverse student
population in a caring, nurturing environment is formidable. Like
all private schools we compete with, the raising of significant
funds is critical to our ongoing success and this takes shape in
several forms:

Ongoing, Annual funding
efforts provide a meaningful
portion of the dollars we offer in tuition assistance each year, as
well as critical support for our operations, extracurricular
programs, facilities/maintenance needs. These efforts include:

(details)
Each year an appeal is made to all
Saint Viator’s constituent groups for
unrestricted financial support. The

generous and faithful annual donors.
Donors of $500 or more to our
unrestricted annual fund are
recognized each year as Viator Foundation members
and are entitled to all member

Special Events
Saint Viator’s Advancement Office
sponsors a series of special events each year
geared toward involving and
soliciting the support of our various constituent
groups. Each event has a stated
purpose and your participation helps to raise
funds for the benefit of a specific
Saint Viator program, project, endowment or
team. These annual events include:

Capital Campaigns
are required when Saint Viator needs to raise significant dollars
to address extraordinary needs beyond that which might be possible
through regular Annual Funding Efforts. Our most recent and most
successful capital campaign in school history, Heart of the
Lion, raised just over $11.1 million in gifts and pledges.
This provided critical funding toward construction of The Boler
Center, the establishment of much-needed endowments and the
complete renovation of four science labs. Even as pledges continue
to be collected, we recognize that future capital campaigns will be
required to increase the endowment for tuition assistance, to pay
off The Boler Center and to address other top priority needs yet to
be determined.
Endowment Funds
designated for the purposes of tuition assistance and
faculty enhancement have been established through Heart of
Lion. Funds received designated for these purposes are
invested under the direction of the Investment Board and the corpus
is not touched. Interest and investment income can be used to
provide greater continuing educational opportunities to our faculty
members and to make the Viator experience possible for a more
diverse student population. Named and/or memorial scholarship and
grants have been established in coordination with the Saint Viator
Advancement Office. Such awards are created with the intention of
carrying out continuing assistance for each recipient over the
course of their four years with us at Saint Viator. Each new named
scholarship or grant is being developed under the Advancement
Office guidelines in order to insure that funding commitments are
in place to make this happen.
Deferred or Planned Gifts
(details)
can provide an important reinforcement for the funding
methods outlines above. The Saint Viator High School Advancement
Office has begun the process of educating the Viator family
regarding Planned Giving opportunities. The Lion Legacy is being
created to provide expanded opportunities for Saint Viator’s
benefactors and friends to include our school in their estate
planning.
